A short welcome: Closing gaps and lovin’ it
Dear reader, if you are looking for the untapped potential that supply chain, procurement, quality, operations, corporate management, and corporate sustainability initiatives have to offer, this one is for you.
For more years than I care to remember, I have worked in, led, and transformed global operations, quality, supply chains, and procurement across five industries. Many colleagues, business partners, and friends have told me over the years to write down my approach to change and solution design. So here we are.
The blog posts are structured around the topics I spend my professional life on. Each generally follows a particular pattern: an introduction to the topic, questions to identify gaps, the size of the prize, a potential solution framework, and the pitfalls to watch out for. It loosely follows the Six Sigma DMAIC logic: Define - Measure - Analyse - Improve - Control.
I will not always stick rigidly to that structure. As statistician George Box once said, "All models are wrong, but some are useful." I think that applies here, too.
Feel free to comment and suggest topics you would like me to cover. Let's be safe and bold.
